Former National Health Laboratory Service chief to pay R22m in damages

Five years after Joyce Mogale, former CEO of the National Health Laboratory Service (NHLS), was fired for contraventions of the Public Finance Management Act, the Labour Court has ordered her to pay more than R22m in damages to the NHLS.

🇷🇺⛔ Meta has banned RT and other Russian state media outlets. The Facebook parent company did so on Monday, claiming that RT and friends had actively used deceptive tactics to carry out covert influence operations online.
🇺🇸🤫 The US Secret Service has confirmed it was aware of a post on X by Elon Musk about a lack of assassination attempts on Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Musk deleted the post shortly thereafter, but not before attracting the attention of the Secret Service.
🇪🇺🛢️ The UK’s oil and gas industry has achieved its 2027 emissions goal four years earlier than promised. More efficient power systems, plus reduced flaring and venting, helped the cause, showing that if there’s money to be made or saved, curbing climate change aggravators is achievable.
🎶🎤 Tito Jackson, the founding member of the Jackson 5, has died aged 70. No cause of death was provided by his family. After Jackson 5, Tito went solo in 2003, performing blues.
