It is baffling to see the strange ideological coalitions that have formed in the West (and East) in support of Ukraine.

Consider the following contradictions:

Ukrainians are probably more intolerant of homosexuality than even the Russians are. This is because there are less people in large cities in Ukraine than in Russia and there seems to be a direct correlation to big city living and homosexual acceptance. In their videos, the Ukrainians shoot at Russian soldiers while calling them “pidori” which is a colorful way of describing homosexuals in both Russia and Ukraine. The translators of these videos substitute the word “pidori” for “orcs” or “them” and “rashists” because they would be banned for using the accurate translation on all Western social media platforms.

And yet, militant Liberals in the West back Ukraine to the hilt.

The Zelensky government has done its best to dismantle any real form of ethnic nationalism in Ukraine in recent years. They have insisted on an ethnos-blind form of civic nationalism where anyone who wants to learn Ukrainian or simply says he does (Zelensky himself is still learning Ukrainian) and who likes Democracy and hates Russia can consider himself a Ukrainian. At their insistence, even groups like Azov, that used to be ethnic-nationalist, have now come out against ethnic nationalism and toe the government line. How any nationalist can support a government where almost every single visible leader of the civilian government is not Ukrainian or even Slavic for that matter, is truly baffling. Even more so when the Kiev government was actively inviting non-White migrants into Ukraine at an alarming rate – mostly from Turkic countries.

And yet, nationalists in the West (mostly from northern Europe) go over to Ukraine to fight for Kiev.

In general, it is hard to understand what exactly a half-ruined, oligarch-run mafia-state offers idealists of any stripe or color in the way of inspiration. The answer, of course, is that money papers over any and all of these glaring inconsistencies. Money is what gets Azov, Antifa and American country boys all into one trench in the Donbass shooting at the Russians. Through the power of money (and technology) a very unnatural state of affairs is allowed to develop. Should the money run out, there would be no justification anymore for all of these different groups biting their tongues and working together.
