By Tom Woods
Yesterday was the first day of the new year of Tom Woods Show episodes, and I kicked things off in rather an unusual way.
No discussion of economics, history, culture, current events, nothing.
That can wait 24 hours.
In the spirit of New Year’s resolutions, I instead spoke to Carla Gericke, president emeritus of the Free State Project (which I know many of you know about and support). But unlike our usual conversations, we didn’t discuss the nature of a free society.
Instead, we talked about how Carla kicked alcohol, and is still doing great five years later.
This is a raw and honest conversation that you’ll find worthwhile and inspiring even if you yourself don’t have a similar problem:
Also, I realized just this week that I never sent this list the three free courses I posted not too long ago.
The great ex-Marxist Michael Rectenwald walks us through fashionable leftist theory and (to the extent possible) helps normal people understand it in his course “Critical Theory, Cultural Studies, and Postmodern Theory.”
Second course: “The History of Conservatism and Libertarianism.”
Third course: “How Alexander Hamilton Screwed Up America.”
You can have them for $0, because I’m a nice guy:
