Attack the System has now been online for a quarter of a century. What began in January 2001 as a modest, self-maintained website has grown into a long-running meta-political media project with a global readership, an expanding contributor base, and a body of work that has influenced dissident thinkers across ideological boundaries.

Over the years, ATS has evolved from an obscure blog into a serious platform for anti-authoritarian analysis, anarchist strategy, and radical decentralist thought. The site’s reach, production quality, and intellectual depth have steadily increased—along with the diversity of voices contributing to it. Writers, researchers, editors, podcasters, and commentators from across the anarchist, libertarian, decentralist, and post-ideological spectrum now participate in this project.

And yet, what exists today is still only the foundation.

Where We’re Going

Our long-term objective remains ambitious:
to make Attack the System a fully independent, reader-supported alternative media and strategic platform capable of competing with establishment outlets—not by imitating them, but by surpassing them in intellectual range, honesty, and freedom of inquiry.

We aim for ATS to function as:

• A clearinghouse for anti-authoritarian thought across cultures, movements, and traditions

• A strategic forum for resistance, decentralization, and self-determination movements worldwide

• A meta-political bridge connecting anarchists, libertarians, populists, autonomists, and dissidents who reject the false binaries of mainstream politics

Our philosophy of pan-anarchism and our strategic framework of pan-secessionism place us in a unique position to do this. No other project consistently attempts to synthesize such a wide range of anti-state perspectives while remaining independent of parties, NGOs, donors with strings attached, or ideological gatekeepers.

Near-Term and Ongoing Goals

• Expanding and maintaining one of the largest online libraries of anarchist, libertarian, and decentralist writing

• Publishing frequent daily news and analysis, drawing from mainstream, alternative, and international sources

• Developing a stronger in-house editorial and research capacity

• Producing original podcasts, video content, and long-form commentary

• Supporting affiliated projects focused on regional autonomy, subcultures, and specialized political interests

• Expanding international coverage, including systematic documentation of state crimes, repression, and imperial abuses

• Maintaining independence from corporate platforms and algorithmic censorship

• Building a donor-funded think-tank and research wing aligned with ATS principles

• Supporting technical infrastructure, security, hosting, and archival preservation

• Producing merchandise and media that help fund operations while spreading the message
