Local cop climbed ladder and encountered would-be Trump assassin on roof moments before he opened fire – but climbed back down and shooting proceeded | 14 July 2024 | A local cop spotted attempted-assassin Thomas Crooks just moments before he tried to kill former president Donald Trump — but failed to stop the gunman despite the clear threat, according to a report. After rally-goers spotted Crooks on the roof of a manufacturing plant just 130 yards from the stage where Trump was speaking just after 6 p.m. Tuesday, police were notified and one officer climbed a ladder to investigate, law enforcement officials told The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity. The officer — whose department had been enlisted by the Secret Service to help with security — encountered Crooks, who pointed his AR-style rifle at them. The officer then backed down the ladder, and Crooks immediately took aim and loosed about eight shots at the former president — grazing him in the ear, killing one bystander in the rally crowd, and gravely wounding two others, the source said. After that volley of shots, Secret Service snipers shot Crooks dead. [Yes, he was a “cop,” reminiscent of the cop in Shooter, who facilitated the entire patsy/political assassination at the behest of the corrupt criminal cabal. In the movie, he was taken out a couple of days later. (Dead men don’t talk.) This whole kit and caboodle has the hallmarks of an inside job. –LRP]
How Democrats relentlessly dialed up violent rhetoric against Trump before assassination attempt – comparing him to Hitler | 14 July 2024 | Democrats’ rhetoric stoking fear and hatred against former President Donald Trump — including repeated comparisons to Adolf Hitler — is coming into a harsh new light following the assassination attempt against him on Saturday. Trump’s political opponents have long used incendiary language in response to his more controversial statements — commonly casting him as a cartoon villain hellbent on bringing about the end of democracy itself. Their divisive statements frequently include tossing around words like “dictator” or making overt references to the Holocaust or Nazi Germany. Republicans now blame this very rhetoric for stoking the assassination attempt that got Trump shot and left a hero firefighter dead and two others critically wounded.

Democratic congressman’s staffer is fired after saying she wishes shooter Thomas Crooks had ‘better aim’ in vile post after Trump’s near-assassination | 14 July 2024 | A staff member of a Mississippi Democratic congressman took to social media and said she wished the shooter who tried to take Donald Trump’s life had better aim. On Saturday evening, shortly after Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, attempted to assassinate the former president during a rally in Pennsylvania, Jacqueline Marsaw, the field director for Mississippi Congressman Bennie G. Thompson, shared a vile post on Facebook about the attack. Trump was left bloodied and hurt during the assassination attempt as he was seen suddenly grabbing hold of his ear as loud bangs rang out and whizzed by before he ducked to the floor. Marsaw, 61, the president and vice president of a local NAACP in Natchez, Mississippi, has since deleted the post and her account, but screenshots have been reposted across social media. She shared: “I don’t condone violence but please get some shooting lessons so you don’t miss next time ooops that wasn’t me talking.” In a follow up post, she said: “That’s what your hate speech got you!!”

There were explosives, including an IED, found inside a car driven by Thomas Matthew Crooks found parked near the scene of the Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, sources confirmed to Fox News. The sources could not say how many explosives or what kind, but emphasized that more than one was found.
Donald Trump assassination attempt under investigation by Republicans who demand hearing with Secret Service after ‘absolute security failure’ –Former President Donald Trump was shot Saturday at a campaign event | 14 July 2024 | Republicans in Congress have launched an investigation into the “security failures” that led to a horrific assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. Lawmakers say a frightening lapse meant that a gunman was able to get so close to Trump and unleash a barrage of bullets that hit his ear and killed a member of the rally crowd. The suspect opened fire on the former president from a roof 130 yards away from the stage where he was speaking to thousands of MAGA fans in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday night. Former Navy SEAL Rep. Ryank Zinke, R-Mont., who has experience in setting perimeters in combat zones, said the shooter being able to access a “nearby roof” to take aim at Trump was an “absolute failure of security.” And House Oversight Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., told Daily Mail dot com in a statement that he plans to hold a hearing with the Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle to get to the bottom of the failures.
FBI probing Trump rally shooting as assassination attempt | 14 July 2024 | Donald Trump was shot in the ear during a Saturday campaign rally, in an attack that left the Republican presidential candidate’s face streaked with blood and prompted his security agents to swarm him, before he emerged and pumped his fist in the air, mouthing the words “Fight! Fight! Fight!” The shooter was dead, one rally attendee was killed and two other spectators were injured, the Secret Service said in a statement. The incident was being investigated as an assassination attempt. Republican U.S. Representative Ronny Jackson of Texas told Fox News his nephew had been wounded at the rally. The shooting raised immediate questions about security failures by the Secret Service, which provides former presidents including Trump with lifetime protection.
Former fire chief who died at Trump rally used his body to shield family from gunfire | 14 July 2024 | The former fire chief who was killed at a Pennsylvania rally for Donald Trump spent his final moments diving down in front of his family, protecting them from the gunfire that rang out Saturday during an assassination attempt against the former president. Corey Comperatore’s quick decision to use his body as a shield against the bullets flying toward his wife and daughter rang true to the close friends and neighbors who loved and respected the proud 50-year-old Trump supporter, noting that the Butler County resident was a “man of conviction.” …Comperatore died Saturday during an attempt to kill Trump at Saturday’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. At least two other people were injured: David Dutch, 57, of New Kensington, Pennsylvania and James Copenhaver, 74, of Moon Township, Pennsylvania, according to the Pennsylvania State Police. Both were listed in stable condition as of Sunday.
Trump shooter identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks after attempted assassination | 14 July 2024 | A 20-year-old gunman shot and wounded Donald Trump in an attempted assassination at a Pennsylvania rally on Saturday in one of the most horrifying acts of violence in political history. At least eight shots were fired and the crowd started screaming as Trump was swarmed by his Secret Service agents. He then got up, raised his fist and shouted “fight, fight, fight” as he was rushed away from the scene and to hospital. Just a few hours later, he released a statement saying he was fine and describing the moment he felt the bullet rip through his skin. The attacker killed a member of the crowd before he was shot and killed in the terrifying incident that has sparked questions of how law enforcement allowed him to open fire on a former president.
