By Derrick Broze Friends, So I have had some weeks to reflect on what happened on January 6 at the Capitol. I have watched countless hours of footage, podcasts, heard what the MSM and the indy media, and conservative media had to say. My conclusion: While describing it […]

So what if he did? It was about the goofiest and most limp-dicked “insurrection” in history.
Saagar Enjeti analyzes various reasons life-long Republicans are leaving the GOP.
One thing I find particularly interesting is some leftists continue to deny that “cancel culture” even exists, including ones who have actually been canceled. It’s like the French radicals or old Bolsheviks who defended the regime right up until the moment they were ordered to the guillotine or […]
Krystal Ball and Saagar Enjeti discuss new NBC News polls showing low support for QAnon.
By Keith Preston Between the time that Donald Trump entered the Republican primaries in 2015 to the moment of the January 6, 2021 supposed “coup attempt,” the specter of “fascism” has been raised by critics of Trumpism. This is somewhat interesting because it shows how the FOX circle is trying to spin things in the post-Trump era and how the progressoids are responding. The FOXers seem caught in the middle between their Trumpist base and their neocon overlords.

It seems that right now things could be considered better for the “libertarian-left” than at any point in the past, at least in US history. By “libertarian-left,” I mean that umbrella of philosophies with a generally anti-authoritarian ethos but which also do not deify corporate tycoons as Nietzschean […]
The USA is rapidly becoming a society that has the social norms of the Western European ruling classes but the class structures of Latin America. This situation will likely lead to more civil unrest in the future, along with populist movements with demagogues of their own, left and […]
Now that’s funny. Hopefully, the “GOP Civil War” will turn violent.
Die, FOX, die! Krystal Ball reacts to the cancellation of Lou Dobbs show on Fox News.
The more freakish the people who get elected to Congress, the better. I’m looking forward to battle royales in Congress between the Squad and QAnon. It’s also great to see these conspiracy nuts undermining the Reaganites and neocons. Sick ’em! Krystal Ball and Saagar Enjeti react to a […]

A reader offers a great summary of Matt Christman’s work: It’s probably one of the best discussions I’ve seen regarding the rift between the GOP elite and the base, and how culture takes the place of economics in politics when economic paradigms become unquestionable. Also, how in general, […]
By Yoni Appelbaum, The Atlantic A tectonic demographic shift is underway. Can the country hold together? Democracy depends on the consent of the losers. Duh? There’s nothing like stating the obvious. Former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, D-HI, joins Trey Gowdy on ‘Fox News Primetime’ to discuss media fairness in American politics.
Prediction: If this lunatic is expelled from Congress, it will have the effect of radicalizing the right-wing to an even greater degree because they will come to see that the electoral system is worthless, and rigged to keep actual opposition figures out. AOC and the Squad may be […]
I always knew the Red Tribe would become more militant and determined to go down fighting as it continued to lose political and cultural power. By Robert A. Pape and Keven Ruby, The Atlantic On January 6, a mob of about 800 stormed the U.S. Capitol in support […]
I have noticed that in relatively recent times the sex worker rights movement has grown significantly. I expect this to escalate in the same way that the gay rights and trans rights movements did previously and, like the TERFs vs trans conflict, the SWERFs vs sex workers conflict […]
What’s interesting about this case from England is that the offender is not some football hooligan with a BNP membership but a young African woman who is probably either an immigrant or the descendent of very recent immigrants. Look for more conflicts of this kind as the size […]
The woke vs. anti-woke back and forth is so reminiscent of the 80s’ rendition of culture war politics, pitting the moral majoritarians who were convinced America was becoming Sodom and Gomorrah against the liberals who thought the US was on the verge of a theocratic revolution led by […]

I generally agree with Gramsci’s theory of revolution even if I don’t share many of his political views. If you want to understand the present moment, especially how similar Wokeness seems to Mao’s Cultural Revolution, you have to understand the Italian communist Antonio Gramsci. Gramsci wrote a series […]
