School sets up 'gender-neutral' dressing room

A Stockholm high school is set to open a third changing room for transsexual pupils and those who don’t want to define themselves as being male or female, a move believed to be the first of its kind in the country.

“It’s for people who aren’t comfortable being divided into gender stereotypes,” Camille Trombetti, who sits on the student council at Södra Latin gymnasium, told The Local.

She said management at the central Stockholm high school at first welcomed the idea.

“They were very positive and welcoming but we had to figure out how to do it practically,” said Trombetti, who underlined that the student council has long pushed to expand the rights of LGBT students.

“We were the first student council to march in the Stockholm Pride Festival last year, and we encourage our teachers to use the pronoun ‘hen’.”

Trombetti explained that teachers now use the gender-neutral pronoun instead of the male and female “hon” and “han” in “relevant situations” rather than replacing them.

Middle School Girls Receive Training for Dorm Life When They Go Off to College Reply

Standupforthetruth.Com

Imagine 13 and 14-year-old girls being instructed to ask one another for a lesbian kiss in a class exercise.  The girls had no choice. The parents were NOT informed. But hey, if it falls under “anti-bullying,” than who are you to question it, right?

Heather Clark over atreports this alarming development:

Red Hook, New York – A recent anti-bullying presentation at a middle school in New York that focused on homosexuality and gender identity has angered parents after their daughters have come home to tell them they were forced to ask another girl for a kiss.

According to reports, the session occurred last week at Linden Avenue Middle School in Red Hook, New York, near Poughkeepsie. A group of students from Bard College led two workshops for the youth, separated by gender.

During the workshop for girls, the 13 and 14-year-olds were told to ask one another for a lesbian kiss. They were also taught words such as “pansexual” and “genderqueer.”

Karl Rove: ‘I could’ imagine GOP presidential candidate supporting gay marriage 1

By Dylan Stableford

Karl Rove, former deputy chief of staff under President George W. Bush and current Fox News contributor, says he can envision the 2016 Republican presidential nominee supporting gay marriage.

“I could,” Rove said during a roundtable discussion on ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday when asked if he could imagine a same-sex marriage supporter on the top of the GOP’s next ticket.

What Germany outlawing bestiality tells us about changing attitudes to sex 6

I personally find the practice of bestiality to be utterly revolting, only a half step above pedophilia, and I hardly consider a ban on the practice in the name of curbing animal abuse to be any kind of human rights violation. But I do worry when things start getting banned in the name of “equality” given that “equality” along with “health” has become the principal rallying cry of totalitarian humanism.

By Nelson Jones

The change in law reflects the contemporary view of sex as something that can only properly be enjoyed on a basis of equality.

Once ‘inconceivable,’ Republican leaders sign pro-gay marriage brief 2

I cautiously predict that the SCOTUS will use this case to legalize same-sex marriage nationwide. This will likely be the Roe v Wade of gay marriage. I say “cautiously” because I’m not 100% certain in my prediction. There may be one or two liberal
or centrist justices who think the court stepping in and legalizing gay marriage in toto would be a little too bold at this time. But it will happen eventually either way.

NBCNews.Com

Supporters of same-sex marriage hope for a boost this week when dozens of high-profile Republicans, many no longer in office, submit their legal argument to the Supreme Court on why gays and lesbians should be allowed to wed, bucking their party’s platform.

Iceland Porn Ban: Minister Says Pornography On Internet Must Be Blocked To Protect Children 9

Huffington Post

It looks as if Iceland is about to get a little colder.

Iceland’s government is considering a sweeping ban on Internet pornography that would prevent its people from viewing or downloading x-rated material.

The legislation, being drafted by Interior Minister Ogmundur Jonasson, aims to block the effects of pornography on young people by filtering access to pornographic images and videos via smartphones, computers and game consoles, according to the Telegraph.

Thoughts on Gay Marriage 2

By Dr. Sean Gabb

Not looking at the general circumstances, I’m in favour of gay marriage, and have been at least since I first wrote about it in 1989. If two consenting adults want to live together in close union, and can find a consenting minister of religion to bless their union, who are we to object? I also can’t get worked up about polygamy, polyandry, incest, or any other kind of union between consenting adults. To a libertarian, the sole function of state marriage laws is to offer individuals a package of legal agreements and declarations that they could make for themselves if they wanted to find the money and time.

George Takei, ‘Star Trek’ Star, On Coming Out, LGBT Rights And ‘Don’t Say Gay’ Bill Reply

Huffington Post

George Takei

George Takei says there’s a not-so-secret mission — or two — behind the bitingly funny videos and Facebook updates which the “Star Trek” legend posts regularly to his 3.5 million Facebook followers, who grow by 40,000 per week.

“I think my new image as a comic observer of society happened as a result of a very serious mission I have,” he explained in an interview on my SiriusXM OutQ program this week, while also weighing in on Jodie Foster’s coming out; President Obama’s embrace of gay rights in his inaugural address; Arnold Scwharzenegger turning his back on the gay community; Tennessee Sen. Stacey “Don’t Say Gay” Campfield; and being an openly gay entertainer spearheading LGBT rights.

With a new book, “Oh Myyy! (There Goes the Internet),” and a musical headed to Broadway — “Allegiance,” which focuses on the internment of Japanese-Americans during World War II — Takei, who became a regular on “The Howard Stern Show” in 2006, a year after he came out as gay, says all the attention is even more wonderful because it can serve a higher purpose.

The Best Birth Control In The World Is For Men Reply

If I were going to describe the perfect contraceptive, it would go something like this: no babies, no latex, no daily pill to remember, no hormones to interfere with mood or sex drive, no negative health effects whatsoever, and 100 percent effectiveness. The funny thing is, something like that currently exists.

The procedure called RISUG in India (reversible inhibition of sperm under guidance) takes about 15 minutes with a doctor, is effective after about three days, and lasts for 10 or more years. A doctor applies some local anesthetic, makes a small pinhole in the base of the scrotum, reaches in with a pair of very thin forceps, and pulls out the small white vas deferens tube. Then, the doctor injects the polymer gel (called Vasalgel here in the US), pushes the vas deferens back inside, repeats the process for the other vas deferens, puts a Band-Aid over the small hole, and the man is on his way. If this all sounds incredibly simple and inexpensive, that’s because it is. The chemicals themselves cost less than the syringe used to administer them. But the science of what happens next is the really fascinating part.

Minorities and Gay Marriage: It’s Evolving Reply

I’d like to see some data on how immigration rates affect this issue.

National Journal

Gay rights pioneer Lilli Vincenz, 74 (right) and her partner Nancy Ruth Davis, 75, pose in their Virginia home.

One potential complication for President Obama’s embrace of gay marriage is that minority voters at the core of the modern Democratic electoral coalition have usually resisted the idea more than whites. But that gap is narrowing-driven mostly by the same process of shifting generational attitudes evident among whites.

Canadian Makeup Artist Faces Real Trial for Fake Violence Reply

The Canadian justice system: moralfags extraordinaire!

From Reason.org.

______________

This week the trial of Rémy Couture, the Canadian special-effects artist charged with “corrupting morals” by illegally combining sex and gore, began in Montreal. The evidence against him includes two short films depicting the crimes of a necrophiliac serial killer and various photographs of simulated torture and dismemberment that were posted on Couture’s now-defunct website, InnerDepravity.com. The images were so realistic that Austrian police, alerted to the website by complaints from concerned citizens about six years ago, initially thought they were on the trail of an extremely indiscreet murderer. By the time the matter was referred to the Montreal police morality squad (yes, that is really what it’s called) via Interpol in 2009, it was clear that no one had actually been harmed during the production of these icky images and that that Couture was merely showing off his skills with makeup and rubber guts. The National Post reports that Sgt. Detective Eric Lavallée nevertheless invented a ruse to lure Couture out of his apartment, “posing as a potential client seeking a mock gory photo session with his wife,” instead of simply knocking on the door. Just to be safe.

House GOP Secretly Authorized $500,000 To Defend Unconstitutional Anti-Gay Law

It has come to light that House Administration Committee Chairman Dan Lungren (R-CA) secretly approved a $500,000 increase to a contract with a private law firm to defend the unconstitutional Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) in federal court. While the increase was approved in September, neither the public nor the Democratic House minority was informed until this week, Roll Call reports.

Public Opinion: Prostitution Should Be Legal 1

Sodahead.Com

The Global Commission on HIV and the Law issued a report suggesting that nations eliminate laws banning “consensual sex work” — i.e., prostitution. It’s an interesting claim coming from an organization aimed at preventing sexually transmitted disease, but their hope is that legalization would lead to regulation and safer practice. We asked the public if prostitution should be legal.

TSA Hires Priest Accused of Molesting Girls, Lets Him Do Pat Downs on Kids Reply

From Just Khaotic. Bloke sounds like their perfect candidate.

_______________

You would expect that the Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) would do good background checks on its prospective employees.  But this doesn’t appear to be the case, after it was determined that the organization hired a priest who’d been defrocked for allegedly molesting two girls in grade school.

The shamed former man of God was given the responsibility of patting people down at the airport in Philadelphia, including young children. The Philadelphia Inequirer reported  that 65-year old Thomas Harkins was pushed out of the priesthood as a result of the allegations.  We’re not sure why he didn’t go to jail instead, but the priesthood has been long criticized for not seeking criminal penalties for priests, even when they’ve been accused of harming children.

The TSA justified its decision by stating that “[a]n allegation alone does not warrant dismissal or automatically disqualify applicants from employment with the TSA,” spokesperson Ann Davistold the Inquirer.

TSA said that they didn’t check the priest’s background because they desperately needed agents at the time and didn’t have time to check everyone.  This was shortly after the September 11th terrorist attacks, when the organization was hiring large numbers of agents at the same time.

Beware, strumpets and reprobates—the femiternalists are back! Not content with slamming their stilettos down on strippers’ faces in Iceland, these especially noxious followers of the feminist faith want to get their killjoy claws into Page 3, the most intellectually stimulating page in UK tabloid The Sun.

This isn’t the first time feministing folk have tried to nag bare breasts off The Sun’s pages. Lefty ex-parliamentarian Claire Short led a particularly Purityrannical campaign to ban boobs from the paper back in the Eighties as part of a larger anti-porn purge. More recently, the ever-histrionic Laurie Penny derided the pulchritudinous page as “neoliberal social conditioning”, existing only for the purpose of keeping womynkynd firmly in thrall to the phallocracy.

Now, the torch of termagancy has been snatched by not one but two killjoys.
