Russian orthodoxy is effectively an arm of the Russian state. In fact, in 2019 the Ukrainian orthodoxy became separately ruled from Russian orthodoxy. This angered Putin greatly. Also, orthodoxy is a lot like Catholicism but specifically is different in being led federally instead of a unitarian model. So specifically the leadership system is different. You cannot map catholic internal politics onto orthodoxy.
