Donald Trump is on a lawless rampage, issuing one illegal executive order after another, shuttering government agencies, deporting legal U.S. residents, and even attempting to overturn birthright citizenship.
The one part of the government standing in his way? The federal judiciary.
But Republicans in the House of Representatives just passed legislation to strip federal district courts of the power to block Trump’s most illegal actions.1
This bill, misleadingly titled the “No Rogue Rulings Act,” is effectively a green light for Trump to act like a king, with no checks and balances. It must be stopped.

When Judge James Boasberg ordered Trump to pause deportations under the Alien Enemies Act, Trump threatened him with impeachment.2
When Milwaukee Judge Hannah Dugan exercised her legitimate authority to prevent ICE agents from executing an arrest in her courtroom without a judicial warrant, Trump’s FBI director had her arrested.3
And when the Supreme Court ordered the White House to facilitate the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, Trump brazenly ignored the justices.4
In our system of government, the president’s power is limited by checks and balances. But Trump is simply ignoring the Constitution and the rule of law — and if the No Rogue Rulings Act passes the Senate, the power of the courts to limit his actions will be severely curtailed.
Demand Progress is sounding the alarm and flooding Capitol Hill with petition signatures to help stop the No Rogue Rulings Act, and we’re counting on your help to ensure that we have the resources we need to win.
With gratitude,
The team at Demand Progress Action
