NYC Mayor Eric Adams, despite being a vocal sanctuary city mayor, isn’t happy with the flood of illegal immigrants coming to NYC.
Adams several weeks ago admitted that NYC’s healthcare system, infrastructure, and public school system will be “inundated” with migrants from south of the border.
Adams made the usual complaints and noise about New Yorkers having to welcome and embrace these migrants as the city draws up plans to house each of them. He said that “Everyone’s block is going to be impacted by this.”
“We’re looking at the potential of emergency shelters in hotels, in other facilities. We want to get our faith-based community involved. If there ever was an all-hands-on-deck moment this is it,” Adams added during another press conference.
Adams was more focused on criticizing the “callousness” of southern border states, as opposed to the Biden administration’s pro-mass migration policies.
“Our system was inundated with those who were seeking shelter because of the callousness of the states that pushed them out. We’re here. We’re receiving them, and everyone is going to have to be on board,” Adams remarked. “We can’t have the historical ‘I believe they should be housed, but just don’t house them on my block.’ Everyone’s block is going to be impacted by this.”
