The Extremism Roundup

Focused on Evidence Instead of Narratives
A weekly compilation of the most important developments in the struggle against radical ideologies

A Word about this week’s Roundup

with Richard Green

Dear Reader,

The stories in this week’s newsletter are a reminder that extremist threats continue to evolve in both form and method. From terrorist support networks and organized intimidation campaigns to foreign influence operations and carefully planned acts of violence, many of today’s threats develop long before they become headline news. Identifying warning signs early, understanding how these networks operate, and sharing reliable information remain critical to prevention.

At Clarion Project, we remain committed to exposing threats, educating the public, and helping protect communities before violence occurs. Awareness is the first step toward prevention, and vigilance remains one of our strongest defenses.

Sincerely,

RIchard Green

SECURITY TIPS FOR THE WEEK: Protecting You & Your Family Online

Hover Over Links

Before clicking on any link, hover over it to see the actual URL. It should match the expected destination and look legitimate. This practice helps identify malicious links and prevents phishing attacks and malware infections.

Save the Evidence

If a predator targets your child online, do not delete messages, images or videos from predators, and do not forward any sexually explicit images or videos. Save usernames, screenshots and images or videos as evidence for law enforcement to collect directly from the device.

New Report: How Qatar Built Influence Inside America’s Top Universities

  • A JINSA report states that newly released documents from the House Committee on Education and the Workforce provide insight into funding relationships between Qatar and American universities, examining how foreign-government donations may extend beyond financial support into institutional influence.
  • According to the report, contractual agreements governing university partnerships in Qatar included provisions related to intellectual property, governance structures, academic credentialing and confidentiality, giving Qatari institutions access to areas of university operations not visible through federal foreign-funding disclosures alone.
  • The report argues that Qatar has used these partnerships as part of a broader foreign-policy strategy and calls for greater scrutiny of foreign-government funding arrangements and the contractual terms underlying them. READ MORE
