| 2026 marks the centennial of Murray Rothbard’s birth. The Year of Rothbard is in full swing at the Mises Institute with a host of exciting events, books, giveaways, and articles. Join us in October as we continue the celebration with our annual Supporters Summit. We’ll meet at the La Cantera Resort and Spa in San Antonio, Texas, October 22–24.
A full lineup of scholars will cover every aspect of Rothbard’s career, from his rigorous economics scholarship to his remarkable work as a historian. Speakers will recall how Rothbard has affected their own research and scholarship while examining many of his key works, from Man, Economy, and State to his monumental history of the American Revolution, Conceived in Liberty.
As an economist, Murray was always especially interested in money, banking, inflation, and the central bank. This year, our keynote speaker will be economist Judy Shelton, a well-known proponent of the gold standard and an open critic of the Federal Reserve whose opposition to easy money likely prevented her appointment to the Board of Governors following her 2019 nomination. Shelton will share her insights on the politics of central banking and the gold standard in America. |
