Misanthropy is Not the Answer

IT is very easy to become disillusioned with people nowadays, but misanthropy is not the answer. Complaining about ‘human nature’ is irrelevant when most people in Europe and North America live completely artificial lives and do not even act in accordance with who they really are. Furthermore, once you realise the extent of your own self-worth, you will stop projecting your woes onto others and become a shining example that can encourage the best people to help bring about the replenishment of genuine organic societies. Alter both the mentality and the environment, therefore, and the behaviour and attitudes of people themselves will change.

Misanthropy is an admission of defeat; a sign that someone has become frustrated because they cannot find their own place in modern society and this merely breeds resentment. Feeling out of place in the midst of rampant materialism, environmental destruction and social atomisation is perfectly understandable, but real human nature will only begin to appear once you begin to think and act differently.

Discard that which is transient and become more authentic. By discovering yourself, you will unearth the genuine nature that lies within. That can only be done through struggle, perseverance, dedication and engagement with others of like-mind. It is not people you hate, but the distorted persona non grata that presently forms part of the unthinking mass. Most ‘people’ are not people at all.

Indeed, whilst there is much talk of being ‘wolves among the sheep,’ often by individuals who are clearly not up to the task, rather than wallow in your own perceived superiority you should be trying to create the conditions that allow those sheep to become as wolves themselves. The perfect antidote for the creeping negativity of misanthropy is to find solidarity among the discerning few. You have done well to step out of the mainstream, but now it is crucial to work alongside those who also believe in the true fulfilment of real human potential.
