THIS is not a game. We are in a war. We need writers, poets, artists, gardeners, educationalists and benefactors. Even soldiers. People who do more than chase after whatever happens to be trending on social media. There are some who dedicate their entire lives to the struggle for justice and freedom, yet others who engage in what Heidegger calls ‘idle talk’.
If you still care, then do something. Anything. Either you continue to consume the safe, pseudo-political entertainment offered by the controlled internet environment or you finally stop wasting precious energy and become a source of positive change for those in the outside world.
Scrooge has spoken and the lingering ghosts of past pretence, present affectation and future posturing have taken flight.
