ALTHOUGH the System will invariably portray anarchists as half-crazed arbiters of destruction who are committed to the transmutation of order into chaos, and this is often true of those who misunderstand its fundamental principles, the men and women who embody the true ethos of the anarchist spirit are seeking the precise opposite. Turning ideas into practical realities is like producing a great piece of art. Not something which is conceptual, necessarily, but akin to a labour of love that is born of transcendental imagination. Whilst neither art nor anarchism are chaotic, therefore, they spring from chaos itself.
Undertaking an anarchist project connects one to the beginning of all beginnings in the sense that the origins of a work of anarchy – like true art – is not the actual source of the undertaking itself but an intermediary between the non-human and the newly human. In other words, just as an artist is a visionary with the ability to see things that most people cannot, the anarchist transforms chaos into composition. This process represents a liberation of the life-force from the capitalist penitentiary of imposed habit and repetition, a reconfiguration of madness and pandemonium into a metamorphosis of organisation and form.
