Explore the history and legacy of slavery with The Nation

Singular Journeys for Progressives
Join us this fall on one of our two programs that explore the history of slavery. Our newly designed West Africa and the Origins of the Slave Trade travels from Senegal to Benin, Togo and Ghana as we explore the history and legacy of slavery in these African countries. Closer to home, our From Slavery to the Civil Rights Movement tour looks at slavery in the U.S., as we travel from New Orleans to Savannah to Charleston. On both tours we meet with insightful individuals who help us gain historical insight, and allow us to reflect upon this brutal period of time and how its legacy continues to shape our world today.
