A Requiem For Ba’athism (Part 1 of 2)
It took less than two weeks for the Syrian government to fall and for Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) to almost effortlessly march into the country’s capital, Damascus, ending six decades of Ba’athist rule in the country, five of which were directly under the Assad family.
In the meantime, I want to hear from those of you brave enough to stick out your necks and answer the following questions regarding what you think will happen in 2025 (I promise to not use your answers against you):
Global
- Will a peace deal be reached regarding the War in Ukraine and will it stick?
- Can Syria manage to hold it together next year and not blow up again?
- Will Israel take another run at Hezbollah in Southern Lebanon?
- What are the odds that China begins in 2025 to make moves on Taiwan?
US Politics
- Will large-scale deportations of illegal migrants take place next year?
- Will there be a deep state counterattack on the White House?
- Has Wokeness peaked? Or is it just shoring up gains?
Science
- Will AI make a significant breakthrough in 2025?
- Is next year the year that Climate Change takes centre stage as a global issue?
Entertainment
- What entertainment are you looking forward to enoying? (Nothing to do with predictions, obviously).
Personal
- Will you succeed with respect to your New Years Resolutions?
Answer as many of these as you want, and feel free to use this open thread as all others have been used too: ask questions, make comments/requests/jokes/, raise concerns, etc.
