Morning of murders — eight people shot dead in Khayelitsha

Eight people were found shot dead in three locations in Harare in Khayelitsha on Wednesday morning, 17 April 2024. Police believe the shootings are related. While residents say the deceased had been terrorising the community, the mothers of three of them are mourning their loss.

🤖✊ Google suspended 28 employees after they protested against a $1.2-billion Project Nimbus contract to provide Israel’s government with AI and cloud services. Google is keeping the matter “as confidential as possible”.
🪙🚓 Two Air Canada staff are suspected of being involved in the theft of 6,600 gold bars from a cargo facility. The entire cops and robbers-spiel was probably something one should see “in a Netflix series”, Peel Police Chief Nishan Duraiappah said during a press conference.
