Woman explains why wives face more issues dealing with their in-laws than the husbands

| Nicole Michelle—who goes by @nicolemichelleofficial on TikTok—a wellness coach posted a video captioned, “If you’re struggling with issues with your in-laws, one overarching component is access. Boils down to women, daughters-in-law and sisters-in-law making an active choice do not participate and everything and enmesh with them.” She explains this stance further when she begins the video by saying, “I’m beginning to think that the reason why women have so many issues with their in-laws, more so than men do, is because our society’s idea about women is that we are accessible.” She further adds that women’s “mental, emotional and physical labor is just free and accessible” and so if a woman gets married and decides not to accept or “go along” with certain ideas, “there is pushback,” precisely because they’re “not allowing access.” |
| Michelle’s points made a great revelation that most women probably aren’t even aware of. She then goes on to say, “So, let’s look at this on a broader scale. Look at what’s happening in the United States with women’s rights. Look what happened June 24th of 2022,” referring to the Supreme Court’s decision that overturned Roe v. Wade and made abortion illegal in twenty-one states, per The New York Times’ latest data. |
| She went on to add that society, policies and culture play a vital role in making women believe that they can be “controlled” and “accessed.” She also said, “When we make choices for ourselves, such as setting boundaries with family members, we are told we are ‘wrong, bad, evil, mean’ or ‘just wait until you have kids, it’s going to happen to you too’ because we have made a choice for certain people to not have access to us because women are taught to be accommodating, be nice, just go along.” |

Sanitation workers rescue 10-year-old girl who had been kidnapped on their pickup route
| An Amber alert had been issued by New Iberia police on February 7, 2021, for a missing child. The 10-year-old girl had been abducted from a family’s home and police asked residents in the area to keep a lookout for a man who was last seen driving a silver Nissan Altima. A day later, two sanitation workers named Dion Merrick and Brandon Antoine, along with other sanitation workers, remained vigilant during their morning trash route. A few hours into their job, the duo noticed a vehicle parked in the middle of a field. It seemed to match the description of the abductor’s vehicle. “I just saw this gray car parked in the field,” Merrick said in a Facebook Live video. “I just saved that little girl’s life bro. I just saved that little girl’s life, thank God,” he added. |
| The two workers knew something was wrong and decided to trust their intuition. “Something told me, like just look, I said what is that car doing in that field like that? What is the car doing? Guess what, that’s the dude with the little girl,” Merrick said in his video, “That’s God.” To make sure the man wouldn’t escape with the child, the brave men pulled the garbage truck over to the wrong side of the highway to block the car. They immediately called 911 for help. “Make sure they couldn’t get out,” Merrick said. Fortunately, it took less than a minute for police to arrive at the scene. “I was just doing my job man. I was just doing my job and actually came across somebody who needed help,” Merrick said, “Got me tearing up.” |

Woman who feeds a squirrel every day returns home to find a wholesome gift from the rodent
| A human being’s love for animals is easily understood and expressed because of the ability of humans to communicate in a language. The other way around is also a beautiful experience but there are some limitations to how animals communicate and express their love towards the humans that matter to them. Much research has been done to decipher the behavior of animals and understand their feelings through their actions. A recent example of this is a viral TikTok video captured and posted by Ethan (@ethznn). It shows a beautiful gesture on the part of a squirrel that used to be fed every day by the woman in the video. |
| The title of the video explains the background story. “This woman always feeds this squirrel and the squirrel returned the favor by leaving a cookie out for her.” This almost seems unbelievable, but then again, kindness is usually a surprising affair. The video is captured by the CCTV camera outside the main entrance of the lady’s house. It shows the woman returning from a round of errands, probably because she can be seen carrying large and heavy bags. She places them on the side, looks for her house keys and begins to unlock the door when her eye catches sight of something red and round. She picks it up and realizes that it’s a cookie. |
