| On Monday afternoon, 400 protesters with the organization Jewish Voice for Peace took over the Statue of Liberty to call for a cease-fire in Gaza. The group gathered families and garnered the eyes of tourists and media attention. Writer Sophie Hurwitz attended the action, reporting that while some visitors passing through the island exclaimed their opposition to the protest, others “like Scottish visitors David and Sheila Miller, were thrilled.”
Right now 66 percent of Americans want a cease-fire. But most Democratic politicians, including President Joe Biden, will call only for a “humanitarian pause.” US protesters will keep chanting and engaging in peaceful civil disobedience until our government pressures Israel to change its mind. |

| The Left Is Not “Anti-Jewish” |
