I apologize for commenting a few days late, but the Martin Luther King Jr. portion of the following tweet serves as a jumping off point for me. And I’m not targeting Shitlibs with this one.

Am I showing you this Tweet in order to go on a rant about what a scumbag MLK was? Absolutely not. I’m sharing it because MLK is a stumbling block for many people who call themselves “Right-wing.” There is nothing in Martin Luther King Jr’s character, belief system, or actions that should be praiseworthy for anyone who considers themselves Right-wing. The people still defending him are afraid to be contrarian. They’re afraid to be called racist. We all know that the Democrats are the real racists, right? I could list 100 more from “Right-Wingers.” Should Right-wingers lionize someone like MLK? Was his message of unity and, let’s be honest, multiculturalism something that turned out to be beneficial for society? How has forced integration and “morality via legislation” worked out for the USA?
At this point (and yes, I know I start a lot of my final paragraphs with those three words), what is the point of celebrating someone with Martin Luther King Jr’s track record if not to demonstrate how much of a “good citizen” you are? The fact that someone who has the reach of Pedro Gonzalez is willing to reveal all of MLK’s skeletons, while Ben Shapiro and Dinesh D’Souza use the day to play “the Left are the real racists” speaks to who you should look to for guidance and hope. The fake Right chooses to kiss their Boomer audience’s asses to keep the shekels flowing. Do you believe this “Right-wing” group has your back in the current conflict?
