Congress still hangs on a knife’s edge as ‘red wave’ weakens: Fetterman’s win boosts Democrats’ chances of keeping Senate

Republicans and Democrats are still wrestling for control of Congress late on Wednesday morning, more than 24 hours after voters began lining up at polling places across the country.

House Democrats took their biggest blow just before 11am on Wednesday when Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney, head of their fundraising arm the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, conceded his loss to Republican challenger Mike Lawler.

Lawler’s campaign confirmed on Twitter Wednesday morning that Maloney had called him, and he was already congratulated by the DCCC’s Republican counterpart – though the Associated Press is yet to call the race.
