NEWARK, NJ- What exactly is a “sovereign citizen?” The definition says they are:
A member of a political movement of people who oppose taxation, question the legitimacy of government, and believe that they are not subject to the law.
For police officers, a sovereign citizen is usually a roadside lawyer who got their law degree watching television or a YouTube video.
You know, the type that say they don’t have to register their vehicles or get a license, don’t have to obey traffic laws, and cops “don’t have the authority” to stop them. Think along the lines of antifa.
