There are some anarchists who believe in voting for the “lesser of the evils” (although whom they consider to be the “lesser evil” is dependent on what kind of hyphenated anarchist they are). In 2016, I knew self-proclaimed “anarchists” who voted for Clinton, Trump, Johnson, Stein, Castle, the Transhumanist Party, one of the commie cults, and (I’m sure) others. I think there are several legitimate options here. One is to boycott elections altogether. One is to “vote third, no matter who.” Another is to use electoral campaigns solely for propaganda purposes. Another is to cultivate political parties as the political arm of a wider revolutionary infrastructure (such as the pan-secessionist meta-party idea I have written about in the past).
