The specific organizational forms that the growing third wave of anarchist movements will eventually assume is still being debating. Might the example of the Pirate Party and its rapid growth be a potential model to draw on?
Like the lawless, ruthless, anarchists they were, the classic pirates we all know and love believed in total freedom and self-interest without the rule of kings and queens. That’s probably why their own attempts at self-governing in places like Nassau didn’t work out so well. But times change, and it turns out pirates have changed along with it. A recent poll revealed that the Pirate Party is now the biggest political party in Iceland.
