Peter Jaggers’ death sparks divided opinions on gangsterism in Cape Town

This month the bodies of suspected gangster Peter Jaggers and William Petersen, of Cape Town, were discovered in a Free State river after they had allegedly been kidnapped. While some see Jaggers as a criminal whose end was inevitable, others view him fondly.

🇺🇸🖥️ Microsoft has warned that an Iranian hacking group is scouting US election-related websites and media outlets, with activity suggesting possible plans for influence on operations in battleground states. The hackers – dubbed Cotton Sandstorm by Microsoft, and linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps – have been associated with interference in the 2020 election.
🇹🇷💥 Five people were killed and 22 wounded in an attack on a Turkish aviation site on Wednesday. Witnesses heard gunfire and an explosion as workers were leaving for the day. Turkey’s government said two suspects, both killed in the incident, were “highly likely” conducting the terrorist attack as members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party.
🇬🇪🗳️ The founder of Georgia’s ruling party, Bidzina Ivanishvili, has doubled down on a pledge to ban opposition parties, should his party clinch victory. The billionaire and one-time PM is rarely seen in public. He made an exception to address supporters in a final rally before a crucial parliamentary election this weekend.
🇨🇺🕯️ Cuba is keeping schools closed and non-essential workers home until Sunday as the crisis-racked Caribbean island nation struggles to recover from the collapse of its power grid last Friday, a situation worsened by the arrival of Hurricane Oscar earlier this week.
