🇮🇱🇱🇧 Israel has marked a year since the deadly 7 October attacks by ramping up strikes in Beirut, while Hezbollah launched its own attack on Haifa. Both belligerents claimed the attacks were targeting military facilities.
🇮🇱🇵🇸 Hamas’ chief negotiator has blamed Israel for continuing to block any progress on a ceasefire. Chief negotiator and deputy Gaza chief Khalil Al-Hayya blamed Netanyahu’s goal-shifting, while Israeli negotiators criticise Hamas’ own placement of impossible goals.
🚀💫SpaceX has been given the go-ahead for today’s Falcon 9 rocket launch. Part of the Hera spacecraft programme, the mission is aimed at inching towards establishing a literal, asteroid-moving planetary defence system.
🏎️💲 McLaren has unveiled the new W1 Supercar, its most powerful vehicle yet. The hybrid will set you back $2.1-million. But don’t worry about that, since all 399 vehicles in the limited series have been sold already.

Today in 2023, Hamas and several other Palestinian militant groups launch an attack on Israel. It results in the deaths of around 1,200 people, and 251 hostages are taken, including civilians and soldiers. The attack initiated the Israel-Hamas war.

Earth has a temporary mini-moon for about two months, until 25 November.
