For the past four decades – throughout the neoliberal period – the American President figurehead has been mandated with maintaining the status quo of neoliberal and libertarian ideological fundamentalism. While this situation remains perpetuated, the American system can only go “sideways and downways,” as America presents as a failed, abusive, imploding, increasingly authoritarian system.
