Is China The Next Global Superpower?

Since the rise of the Communist Party to power within China, the state has made clear it’s ambitions of becoming a major player in world affairs; initially this meant merely being to the Soviet Union what Britain and the EU were to the United States, but following the Sino-Soviet Split, improving Sino-American relations, and major developments in industrial and military capabilities, China, now the world’s second largest economy, and third strongest military, is strongly considering the top spot for itself. But will China really overtake the US, and become the next Superpower, or are these goals just the delusions of a country gone mad with power?
