Nexus X HumectressIhave been asked by a fair number of ATS readers what my perspective is on the growing interest in Greece’s Golden Dawn. Here are my thoughts:
I generally concur with leftist “watchdog” critic Matthew Lyons’ and paleolibertarian Justin Raimondo’s analyses of Golden Dawn as a fairly straight line derivative of classical fascism. Some ATS readers probably view that as a good thing with others viewing it as a terrible thing. But the two big questions are whether Golden Dawn has any serious prospect of actually assuming control of the Greek state and whether Golden Dawn represents an alternative political model for the postindustrial and postmodern societies of the West.
The answer to both questions is no.
With regards to the question of to what degree the Golden Dawn actually threatens the Greek state, it must be remembered that GD is a fringe nationalist party who only recently obtained marginal representation in the Greek parliament. In this regard, GD is comparable to similar far right nationalist parties in Europe like England’s BNP, France’s National Front, Germany’s NDP, Sweden’s National Democrats, and so on. But elections held this year in multiple nations, including England, Germany, France, the United States, as well as Greece indicate that the prevailing political trends sharply favor the Left. Such trends are predictable given the ongoing demographic transformation and economic downturn currently being experienced by Western nations. The far right has also experienced some growth, which is to be expected in an era of both economic stagnation and radical demographic change, but the dominant political trends do not bode well for the immediate future of the far right. Further, the issue of street level violence associated with Golden Dawn appears to be somewhat similar to the skinhead phenomenon experienced by other Western nations during the 1980s and 1990s and is not particularly significant when weighed against street violence generated by other sources such as ethnic gangs.
As to whether GD represents a viable alternative political model for the Western nations generally, it must be recognized that Greece is still largely stuck in the pre-World War Two era with regards to its level of political, economic, and cultural development. The cultural leftist revolution that swept Western Europe, North America, and Australia in the 1960s and 1970s has yet to take root in Greece with nearly as much intensity as it has in Western Europe and the Anglosphere. For instance, anarchist contacts in Greece tell me that the Communist Party there is still an old-fashioned social reactionary party with regards to social issues (like their former comrades in Eastern Europe) with no interest in cultural leftism. Further, there has been considerable in-fighting on the radical left in Greece between the anarchists and the Communists in a way resembling that of the anarchist/communist civil war that occurred within the broader context of the Spanish Civil War. The anarchist groups in Greece are still largely stuck in the “first wave” model of classical anarchism with a strong workerist/proletarian orientation and have yet to fully absorb the bohemian/countercultural/New Left orientation of the “second wave” of anarchism that emerged in the 1960s in the West. And the streetfighting that has transpired in Greece between GD supporters and leftists resembles the classic street battles between leftists and fascists in the pre-WW2 era.
Greece is relevant to the postmodern, postindustrial nations of the contemporary West only by the fact that Greece is a member of the EU (where its plays the primary role of welfare recipient and parasitical burden). Even in the unlikely event of a GD seizure of the Greek state, the military threat posed by a GD-led Greece to other Western nations would largely be nil given Greece’s backward economic conditions and Greece lacks the geographical proximity needed to become a competitor to Israel in the same way as Iran, Iraq, or Syria. At best, a GD-led Greece would be an interestingly exotic regime that was largely irrelevant to international geopolitics, much like Juan Peron’s Argentina during its day.
The problems of the Greeks are for the Greeks to solve for themselves, but if we really want to look for inspiration from political movements outside the postmodern, postindustrial, post-Aquarian Age nations of Western Europe and the Anglosphere, there are far better models to drawn on than Golden Dawn. These include Lebanon’s Hezbollah, a fourth generation military force that has actually eclipsed the Lebanese state in a nation with a lengthy history of sectarian warfare, Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood, which built an alternative infrastructure that actually replaced a state that lost legitimacy, Colombia’s FARC, which has actually seized and held territory on the fourth generation model, and Nepal’s Peoples War Group, whose revolution was on the classic anti-feudal, Third World socialist model but whose relevance is that they did so in a nation without a clearly discernible demographic majority.

Has anybody ever heard GD articulate any position or platform other than zoological nationalism? One would think that in the midst of the economic meltdown they could have articulated some form of economically nationalist policy, one that would be palatable to left even. I don’t know…Strasserism maybe? Such potential apparently wasted on childish dress-up games.
With regard to Golden Dawn, they are of course not “nazists”, both in the sense that their ideology is nothing like nazism and also in the sense that they actively rejected the label “nazi”/”fascist”, altough by now, 2012 it is probably painfully obvious to most quasi-informed people that labels such as “nazi”, “fascist”, “racist”, “xenophobe” are put on any white organisation that wants to look out for the ethnic interests of their own group. People of European descent that like Golden dawn for example feeding starving own starving people is simply not accepted in a multicultural society. That is “nazism.”
For those that actually take the multicultural media serious, I can inform you that nothing or 99% of what the mainstream mulicultural media reports about Golden dawn or any other anti-multiculti organisation, and society in general is accurate. If anti-multiculti parties got into power, these rats would have no job anymore.
For example multicultural media often reports that “Golden dawn attacks immigrants.” what they fail to mention is for example that yes, they attack immigrants but they attack racist immigrant thugs that rob old greek men and ladies as they try to go to the store to buy food for themselves, after Golden dawns help has been requsted by the Greek victims. So Golden dawn beating up racist african thugs that rob old Greeks, is translate in multicultural media too : “Neo-nazi Golden dawn ruthlessly attacks refugees.”
Another example I see a lot, multicultural media reports “Fascist haters of the Golden dawn racist party attack arab vendors”, when the truth is that the vendors were illegal aliens, selling drugs and contrand, and Golden dawns aid was requested by the the local Greek vendors that feared for their lifes and their childrens lives, after the police did nothing.
Or illegal aliens selling drugs at schools, and Greek mothers pleaded with the Police to do something, which they did not, and then they turned to Golden dawn, and Golden dawn threw the drug dealing illegal aliens out. The reaction to this in multicultural media is ofc “Jew killing blood drinking neo-nazi fascist homophobes strike at the innocent and browned skinned.”
I mean, these multiculturalists are nothing but lying racist scum. It is the multiculturalist that are genocidal that import millions of third worlds into Greek and Europe, with the sole aim of destroying the native communities, it is the multiculturalist that makes racial laws such as affirmative action with discriminate based on race, but it is ok, as long as the ones being described against are white, then it is called “positive discrimination.” It is positive because those hurt by it are white. That is the multicultural defintion of positive, and indeed the aim with their entire ideology. It is the multiculturalist that are neo-nazist by the terms exact defintion, multiculturalist strive for racism and genocide, they banned peoples views, even the poll here suggest that Golden dawn is “nazi” and that “nazist”(meaning white people who do not want to become a minority in their own country) should be imprisoned. Multiculturalist support EU, Which is a political units which leaders are not elected by the people, thus un-democratic and dictatorial, it also imprisons people for their views, and tries to control every aspect of society, thus making it totalitarian. A totalitatrian multicultural dictatorship.
To sum this section up. If you are white, and you listen and believe in multicultural media, you are like a jew during 1930’s Germany listening and beliving in nazi media.
There is a Marxist policy of population replacement all across Europe, many cities now resemble the third world, where the indigenous population are being pushed out and replaced by foreigners, mostly third world people, this policy is celebrated by politicians and any dissenters are arrested and charged with so called hate crimes.
The reality of the failure of these artificially created societies is kept from the people through a complicit media and state and media intimidation of truth tellers, although the internet has woken up many people. It’s the indigenous population that face persecution, inequality, oppression, and left wing hate and tyranny. Many immigrants know their elevated status and take full advantage of it, rubbing it in the noses of the indigenous population, which causes greater anger and resentment and a deeper fracturing of society.
These Marxist do not hide their genocide agenda, one very senior front bench politician of the last far left Labour administration in the UK stated that ‘the British as a race aren’t worth saving’. Others stating that they have no problem with there being no indigenous people in Europe in the future, and that is one purpose of mass immigration, there are many others.
Golden Dawn know all this full well and are fighting to secure their nation for their people, demonising them with the old tired and desperate Nazi and fascist label doesn’t wash anymore, they’re fighting for the continued existence of their people, identity, heritage, and culture, and doing so the only way they can because they know their political parties do not serve them, to hate them for doing this makes you the racist and a supporter of genocide.
Also regarding this ridiculous anti-gay spat, Golden dawn is not anti-gay for reacting when anti-christian leftists attack christianity.
Would multiculturalists stand up and support the degrading of Judaism in the same manner they support the degradation of Christianity? If the theaterplay showed Muhammed as being gay, to provoke muslims, would leftists support it? I can assure you the anti-white anti-christian multiculti cadrè would not. In fact if there was a play about degrading Islam or Judaism, “anti-fascist”(The actual fascists) would probably be attacking the theatre goers with knives and sticks.

GD is probably not an exact model, with all the trappings and such that seem to be out of the 1930s, for the rest of the Western World, but I think two points need to be made here.
1) GD could prevent the further demographic displacement of the Greek people in Greece. If they did that alone, that their movement would be a great success. Nowhere else have nationalists been able to stop central governments from displacing native populations.
2) GD is a model as far as social activism. Their blood drives, giving food to the poor, providing security for areas with lots of immigrants and crime (areas where the Greek police aren’t able to keep the peace) and so forth is invaluable to many Greeks. In this respect, GD is more than a party. It is more of a social movement. I’ve heard interviews from Greek people where they said that they expected GD to eventually become the state or take over the state because they are able to provide services that the state can not.
What is all this nonsense about “postmodern, postindustrial, post-Aquarian Age nations of Western Europe”? Has Astrology become a relevant issue in political debate now? i though that crap had ended when Nancy Reagen had left the White House.
Anyway…people are over-analyzing the GD issue. It has little to do with political ideology. It has a lot more to do with a collapsed nation filled with hungry bellies that has long undergone colonization by hostile outsiders under the aegis of traitorous elites.
The bottom line is simple: the outsiders in Greece, legal or illegal, criminal or innocent, have absolutely no business being there if a sufficient number of Greeks does not want them there. Period.
You don’t get a say on how your neighbor runs his house, and if you are uncomfortable visiting…then leave.
Greeks aren’t invading African or Muslim countries, but Africans and Muslim countries are invading Greece. Some Hellenes have had enough and are inviting these people to depart…substituting arguments for focused applications of kinetic energy.
Having a position on a matter without the willingness to spill blood (or having someone who is willing to do it for you) is just a meaningless opinion. GD is engaging in practical politics in the truest and purest sense of the term. It is 0% different from what the Hellenic government has done so far, although it uses Democratic paraphernalia and ritualia while GD prefers NS fetichism.
The National Socialist indumentaria of Golden Dawn is just visual posturing for the purpose of tribal visual identification. It is no different from those funny suits the Moslems wear or T-Shirts from your favorite sports team, and serves exactly the same purpose.
The only reason the Greek members of Parliament are still drawing breath is because other Greeks with body armors, truncheons and guns are willing to spill blood (and have done so profusely) to make sure the opinions of “the government” become orders. You know it, I know it, the Greeks know it, everybody knows it.
It is literally THAT simple. Politics = Violence. The problem is that we in the West have lived too long under “Democratic” systems that use smoke, mirrors and indoctrination to make us blind to the violence.
Once you stop being blind, you will see there is absolutely no difference between the Greek government, Golden Dawn, the Greek Communist factions, and even the EU itself. They are all simply groups of people with an agenda and the willingness to use violence to achieve it. The only question of relevance pertaining to the article above is whether you agree with GD’s goals or not. The fact they are spilling blood and cracking skulls of brown and black people to achieve it is fully irrelevant.
If you are routing for team GD, team EU, team Immigrant or whatever depends solely on your subjective tastes. Since I am a great admirer of Greek culture and consider that people to be cousins of my own (heck, the capital of my country was originally a bronze-age Greek colony). I am fully behind Greece for the Greeks…may they keep their land, culture, heritage and self-determination. Since Golden Dawn is un-apologetically if favor of that I fully support them.
Some non-Greeks and anti-Hellenic Greeks have to suffer for it? Cry me a river!
I notice that in this article Keith puts the BNP in the same bracket as continental European radical right organisations like the FN, True Finns, PVV etc. I have noted that is quite common among American commentators on European radicalism.
The reality is that while some of these European radical right parties have secure parliamentary representation and regularly achieve significant levels of support in election this is not the case for the British National Party (and I should know, I used to be a member). At the height of its success around 2006 the BNP commanded about 100 seats of various Town Hall governments, position known as “Councillors” (because such institutions are generally referred to as local councils). To put that into perspective the most common estimate for the number of such councillors is 22,000.
The BNP has never looked remotely like winning Parliamentary representation, I don’t think it has ever even finished in the top two of an election for a member of Parliament. It has never really looked like it could take control of a local council (although it did briefly form the second largest bloc on one Council in London). Many of its supporters believe its finest hour was the election of two members of the European Parliament. However that was achieved by a proportional representation mechanism which award the seats when the BNP achieved a vote of 5% or thereabouts in two specific regions.
The BNP achieved about half a million votes in the 2010 general election, 2% of votes cast which left it ranked 5th of the parties in terms of absolute number of votes. In terms of seats won it was ranked 11th with zero.
The fact is that the electoral mechanism of the UK, First Past the Post, makes it almost impossible for none “mainstream” parties to stand a chance. Which is why the UK is probably the most likely place in Europe for the rise of a none conventional radical right movement, perhaps on the lines of NA.
This is particularly the case given that the BNP has effectively collapsed as a political force over the last three years. Levels of support have dropped among the electorate while the party’s activist base was gutted by allegations of sleaze, incompetence and fraud. Meanwhile years of propaganda demonising the party mean that the term “BNP” is not to be used in polite company, several professions bar members and former members from those occupations (including teachers, the police, and even the church). To be fair the BNP did everything it could reasonably have been expected to do in order to facilitate that process.
Several attempts have subsequently been made to launch a new “popular front” of the radical right (for people who don’t like Marxism they are very keen on the tactics of the COMINTERN) none have made any impression at all. The radical right in the UK is now fragmented on ideological, personal and strategic issues beyond any prospect of such an enterprise being successful.
So anyway, there is your update from Riot Rock (AKA the United Kingdom).
