1. I’ve been on a little of a reading binge from the number 1 spot on the list. One thing to note about the Marquis de Sade is that well he has a reputation among many just as a champion of unrestrained sexual desire and violence, he actually had many interesting ideas in areas of ethics and politics. At any rate, one thing that certainly is true about de Sade is that he put the lie to the idea that having a darker view of human nature necessarily means advocating a conservative “law n order” society
