I used to see plenty of that kind of stuff in the 90s concerning the militia/patriot movement. Left-liberals believe in statism as an ideal unto itself, just like they believe in civil rights and gay marriage. For them, hating the state is like hating blacks, Jews, gays, immigrants, or other traditional outgroups. I recall seeing a book by a leftist lawyer named Kenneth Stern where he accused the patriot movement of expressing “bigotry” and “intolerance” towards so-called “federal employees” (i.e. state bureaucrats). Yes, he actually said that.
